within just four to five years.

Distribution Lineworker Helper

Estimated starting salary: $14.64/hour= $30,500 a year +
overtime

Assist experienced lineworkers in the field. Prepare electrical equipment for installation; assist with restoration of power outages and installation of electrical service to customers; check equipment on trucks for proper operation and inventory; drive trucks; assist with repair of high voltage wires and utility structures; operate machinery.

Must spend one year in this position and pass a series of tests to be eligible for a promotion.

Distribution Lineworker I

Estimated starting salary: $16.14/hour=$33,570 a year +
overtime

Helper responsibilities plus assist in installing power transformers and network lines; assist in pulling cables; respond to power outages; install electrical service to customers; climb electric utility poles.

Must spend one year in this position and pass a series of tests to be eligible for a promotion.

Distribution Lineworker II

Estimated starting salary: $20.99/hour= $43,660 a year +
overtime

Helper and DE I responsibilities plus conduct on-the-job training of peers and/or subordinates; install power pole hardware and equipment; repair and maintain power lines; drive, set up and operate bucket truck and hydraulic aerial crane; install and operate switching equipment; install and repair electrical equipment; read profiles and blueprints to determine work requirements; troubleshoot, repair and maintain test equipment.
Must spend two years in this position and pass a series of tests to be eligible for a promotion.

Distribution Journeyman

Estimated starting salary: $25.00/hour= $52,000 a year +
overtime

This is the most advanced lineworker position. Helper, DE I and DE II responsibilities plus connect electrical service for customers; install electric meter boxes and meters; splice electrical power cable; repair and move high voltage wires; patrol electrical system for maintenance and tree trimming; set up and operate hydraulic aerial crane and boom truck; operate tension wire equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

Pass physical abilities exam, including climbing up to 40-feet (must complete before submitting application)
Background screening
Driver license review
Math and English skills assessment
